Antithromboembolic Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation

Oral anticoagulation with warfarin or non-vitamin K anticoagulant is recommended for patients with atrial fibrillation and at least one high risk factor, or more than one moderate risk factor in the absence of compelling contraindication. For those with one moderate risk factor only, no antocoagulation is appropriate. For those with no risk factors, no anticoagulation is appropriate as well.
