The patient continued his stable course and progressed well through his cardiac rehabilitation program in the hospital. Cardiac catheterization and angiography were discussed with the patient.
Available data
The available pertinent data were reviewed. His cardiac biomarkers were positive. His original echocardiogram demonstrated inferior wall hypokinesis and mildly reduced left ventricular function. A repeat echocardiogram at discharge showed an ejection fraction of 45-50%. Routine post thrombolytic coronary angiography was recommended and performed. There was only minimal right coronary artery disease without any left coronary disease.
Another patient's angiograms
The angiograms that follow are from another patient who was a participant in a clinical study. They demonstrate the effectiveness of thrombolytic therapy in a patient with an acute inferior wall myocardial infarction.
