Your choice: Non-specific ST-T abnormalities

This electrocardiogram shows non-specific ST-T wave abnormalities. This term applies to many different variations in the ST-T segment and the T wave that do not suggest a specific diagnosis. In this tracing, the T waves are flat and notched in many leads, especially in lead I, and V3 through V6.

These non-specific abnormalities are oberved in a large variety of clinical settings, ranging from drinking cold water and hyperventilation to electrolyte disturbances and the effects of drugs to early myocardial ischemia. While the tracing is interpreted as abnormal, it does not necessarily indicate that the heart is abnormal.
