Examination of the abdomen is also important in the search for secondary causes of hypertension. Polycystic kidneys are usually palpable. Epigastric or flank bruits may suggest renal artery stenosis. An enlarged urinary bladder may be seen with obstructive uropathy. These findings are not present in our patient.
