You are incorrect - the best treatment for our patient is closure of the atrial septal defect.

Your choice: Oral vasodilators
Oral vasodilators are not indicated in the treatment of an isolated atrial septal defect, particularly in a patient with normal blood pressure. In a patient with an atrial septal defect and systemic hypertension, vasodilators will reduce the left to right shunt and decrease the right ventricular volume overload.
