Lead V3R is an additional right chest lead that can enhance the sensitivity of the electrocardiographic diagnosis of right ventricular involvement. The lead is placed on the right chest in a position analogous to the location of lead V3 on the left chest. Lead V3R is particularly useful in patients with congenital heart disease in whom enlargement and hypertrophy of the right ventricle are common.
