You are incorrect - our patient's history is most consistent with cardiomyopathy

Your choice: Pericardial disease
Patients with pericardial disease may have a history of acute pericarditis that is often associated with pleuritic chest pain. With chronic pericardial disease, they may present with signs and symptoms of heart failure. Pericardial disease may be caused by multiple etiologies including viral, mycobacterial and bacterial infection, cancer, renal failure and collagen vascular disease. It may also be idiopathic.
