Your choice: Inoperable because of pulmonary hypertension
Pulmonary hypertension increases the risk of surgery. In patients with valvular heart disease, it is not a specific contraindication, as even when severe, it may significantly resolve postoperatively.
In patients with congenital shunt lesions, pulmonary hypertension associated with a marked increase in pulmonary vascular resistance, may be a contraindication for surgery, as it may not significantly resolve postoperatively.
