The characteristic features demonstrated here include regular P waves associated with each QRS, with the P waves negative in lead II due to retrograde atrial conduction; a constant PR interval; and a rate ranging from 60 to 100 beats per minute.

In some cases, the P wave follows the QRS, as the atrium is depolarized after the ventricle. In other cases, no P wave is seen, as depolarization is concurrent.

Accelerated junctional rhythm may be benign and in some cases it is associated with right coronary artery disease.
