Patients with supravalvular aortic stenosis often have associated abnormalities including characteristic facial features, mental retardation and pulmonary vascular obstruction. Due to preferential blood flow to the right sided vessels, the systolic blood pressure and the intensity of the murmur may be greater on that side. There is usually no ejection sound, as the valve is not involved.
